Sri Lanka has been known by many names over the centuries. During the years under the British occupation is was known as Ceylon and many years before that it was called Serendib, a word now used to describe utter tranquility and relaxation. It is said that Marco Polo visited this tear shaped Island in the 14th century and described it as " undoubtedly the finest island in the world ".
Good value and totally at ease
“Good value and totally at ease”
We moved from another guesthouse in Mirissa after discovering the owner ripped us off to the fullest. We were so glad to be here at Amarasinghe's Royal Lodge. Here, we felt totally at ease. The room was relatively clean and the bed was so comfy. The bathroom was equipped with hot water and the pressure was strong.
Everybody was so helpful and friendly. My little boy hurt his knee and without hesitation the owner Chamika bought him some medicine to apply. Duska the receptionist was a cheerful boy and he was quick to respond to any request - borrowing an adapter, taking an order, making juice, serving tea etc. A really handy person he is. We bought some seafood and requested the chef to cook for us (at small fee). It turned out to be the best dinner we had in Mirissa. If you are lucky you may get Madu, the hostess to cook for you - She gives cooking class!
Clean room for 2500 rupi.
Good food also for a good price.
Nice herb garden.
no noise because it's 5 min walking from the beach.
Just perfect, we stayed for 3 nights.
Ps: Next door we bought very cheap spices in a non touristic place.

“Beautiful place, great food!”
This is a bit overdue but was looking at pictures of my trip and it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling again. This is such an awesome place to stay, clean, beautifully finished, close to everything and you can't beat the price for hot water and AC. You pay double on the beach. I booked a whale watching trip with her husband Chamica who is a very nice guy. Any time I saw him he was offering some delicious treat to try. What I wouldn't give for a veg Roti!! Also highly recommend AMAs chicken curry. Can't wait to come back! Avi Stayed December 2013
“Two weeks in heaven”
My wife and I had enjoyed our stay there and we recommend it to all our friends, our room was super nice and very clean, all the staff were very freindly, the food was very special, the view from our balcony was fantastic, and the visits of the monkeys made it tooooo romantic for us. The ayurveda center was the highlight of our stay there, super experianced doctors and therapists. my wife had a package of 7days ayureda treatment and I had 6 times full body massage during our stay there, we both were very pleased with the service, it worth every cent we paid. we just cant wait to be there again.
